Buzaya vs Luuka, Nawanyago P/s -4pm

Buzaya will host Luuka today at 4pm at Nawanyago Primary School ground in a Kagulu Hill group clash, with both sides chasing their first victory of the MTN Busoga Masaza Cup campaign.

The two sides played out a 2-2 draw in their previous meeting at Busalaamu Primary School, where Buzaya came from two goals down to salvage a point. Both teams have collected two points from their opening two matches, meaning neither has won or lost so far.

Bulamogi, the third team in the group, also has two points from two matches after recording two draws, leaving the qualification race wide open.

Luuka, last year’s finalists, will be seeking their first away victory of this edition, while Buzaya are equally determined to register their maiden win.

The fixture also carries memories from last year, when Luuka and Bulamogi reached the quarter-finals. Luuka defeated Bulamogi 3-0 at that stage. Buzaya, meanwhile, last reached the knockout stage in 2024, when they beat Kigulu 1-0 in the quarter-finals before losing to Bukono 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the semi-finals.

They finished third after defeating Bugabula 2-0 in the playoff, behind champions Butembe and runners-up Bukono. With all three teams currently level on two points, today’s encounter could prove crucial in shaping the Kagulu Hill group qualification race.
