The city of Jinja came alive as thousands of revelers gathered at Bugembe Stadium for the 2026 edition of Ekitudha Gundimu, a spectacular celebration that brought together music, entertainment, football, community and the rich cultural spirit of Busoga.

Organized around the spirit of bringing people together, Ekitudha Gundimu once again proved why it has become one of the most anticipated entertainment events in the region.

A DAY FULL OF ENERGY

From the early hours of the day, Bugembe Stadium was already buzzing with activity. Fans travelled from Jinja and surrounding areas to be part of the celebration.

The festival grounds offered much more than music. There was a lively atmosphere throughout the venue, with entertainment, social activities and football giving fans different ways to enjoy the day.

The event was also supported by Bond 7, marking the brand's first support of Ekitudha Gundimu. A red-carpet entrance and customized photo area gave revelers an opportunity to capture memories as they entered the festival grounds.

MUSIC THAT KEPT JINJA DANCING

The main stage became the center of attention as Ugandan musicians and regional performers entertained the crowd from afternoon into the night.

Among the artists who took the stage were John Blaq, Tracy Melon and veteran singer Haruna Mubiru, who helped set the mood early in the programme.

The excitement continued as Pallaso and King Saha took over the stage with performances that received strong reactions from the crowd.

Regional artists and DJs also kept the entertainment going, ensuring that the stadium remained lively well into the night.

For football lovers, Ekitudha Gundimu offered another major attraction.

Large screens around the venue allowed fans to follow Premier League action while enjoying the festival. Supporters gathered to watch the matches, exchange football banter and enjoy the atmosphere between musical performances.

There was also a football build-up to the celebrations, including a friendly match involving BABA FM and Busoga One FM, adding a sporting element to the wider Ekitudha programme.

Bond 7 created its own space at the festival, with a chill area where attendees could enjoy discounted offers and cocktails.

The brand's presence added another social dimension to the event, complementing the music and sporting activities.

According to Bond 7 representative Iryn Nyakwebara, the partnership was intended to celebrate togetherness and community pride — values that were clearly visible throughout the festival.

What made Ekitudha Gundimu special was its ability to bring different aspects of Jinja and Busoga life together.

It was not simply a concert, it was a gathering where people came together to enjoy music, football, entertainment and each other's company while celebrating the identity and heritage of Busoga.

The large turnout demonstrated the appetite for events that give communities an opportunity to celebrate together.

From the packed Bugembe Stadium to the performances on stage, the football action and the vibrant festival atmosphere, Ekitudha Gundimu 2026 created plenty of memorable moments.

King Saha and Tracy Melon were among the performers who particularly stood out, while Pallaso, John Blaq, Haruna Mubiru and the regional acts added to an impressive entertainment line-up.

There was also an online controversy surrounding a brief interruption involving Eddy Kenzo's performance. Claims that comedian Swengere had ordered Kenzo to be removed from the stage were later found to be false. A fact-check reported that the incident was linked to a sound-system/technical disruption, with Kenzo reportedly appearing before his scheduled performance time.

At its heart, Ekitudha Gundimu is about bringing people together. The 2026 edition demonstrated the power of entertainment to unite communities while giving people a platform to celebrate their culture, artists, businesses, sports and shared identity.

For the people of Jinja and Busoga, Bugembe Stadium became more than an event venue for the day, it became a meeting point for celebration, music, friendship and community pride.

Ekitudha Gundimu 2026 was a celebration of everything that makes a great community event: music, sports, culture, entertainment and people coming together.

With thousands turning up and artists keeping the stage alive from afternoon into the night, the event left Jinja with memories that will live on long after the final performance.
