The Nile Excellence Annual Awards (NEAA) has officially opened the Expression of Interest for Nomination for the 2026 edition, inviting individuals, organisations, innovators, creatives, and community leaders to express their interest in being considered for recognition under various award categories.

This stage gives deserving individuals and organisations an opportunity to present their achievements, innovations, talents, and contributions as the Awards begin the process of identifying outstanding achievers for the 2026 edition
Under the theme “Innovation for Impact,” the 2026 edition focuses on Innovation, Culture, and Tourism, recognising individuals and organisations whose ideas, talents, creativity, and leadership are transforming communities.
The Awards will have a strong focus on Eastern Uganda, which will account for 80% of the recognition platform, while 20% will be open to outstanding achievers from other regions of Uganda. This approach celebrates the region’s excellence while maintaining national participation.
According to the Organising Committee, the expanded categories are designed to capture more talents and sectors that were not fully represented in the first edition. The categories include Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Culture and Creative Arts, Tourism and Hospitality, Agriculture, Business, Education, Health, Media, Technology, Environment, Youth and Women Leadership, Sports, Entertainment, and Social Impact.
The expansion is also part of the Awards’ bigger vision of moving beyond recognition to empowerment through the Nile Excellence Innovation Fund, which seeks to support outstanding winners with opportunities for mentorship, partnerships, exposure, and resources to grow their talents, skills, and innovations.

Participants can nominate themselves or another deserving candidate by:
- Visiting the official nomination portal.
- Selecting the relevant category.
- Completing the Expression of Nomination form.
- Sharing their achievements, impact, innovation, or contribution.
- Submitting before the closing date.
